So I moved to New York… dun dun dun. It felt like a big deal at first, but after being here for a couple of weeks now, I have started to get my groove back. There are however two things at the top of my list that I need to cross up ASAP. The first is to find a permanent apartment and the second is to find a New York based photographer to work with on my blog. While I would love to have my Baltimore photo buddy come here everyday, it is just not realistic I miss you already Glen…
I have lived in New York before, it was nearly six years ago, and boy have things changed. Rent is almost 210% higher and Harlem doesn’t at all look the same. One thing that I never had the chance to experience while I lived in New York is being a TOURIST. I plan to take some time to really tour this city which means, I will hopefully continue to improve on my photography skills. This weekend in fact, I plan to bike across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit Ground Zero. What is even better?!? I plan to keep a video/photo diary to share with you guys.
I truly believe the most productive people wear uniforms and I like to adopt that in my own life. With that said, I love an all-white and all-black look. Why? Because they are effortless. I love being able to throw on an outfit without second guessing myself. An all white outfit is the perfect summer look!
I have always gravitated to black and white and actually at the moment, I am slowly building up my white and black pieces for the Fall. I plan to sell most of my items on Poshmark to get rid of items I no longer need. Poshmark will also allow you to swap items with other users. I’m hoping next week to start my Poshmark store and I will let you know all about the process.
Most of you know by now that I am soon obsessed with the Dylanex brand jewelry. I love the look of layered necklaces with a rich and vintage feel. Over the course of a month, I have found some cool pieces in Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters that have the Dylanex appeal. Each necklace cost between $5.00 – $25.00 in price. A Dlyanex necklace would run you about $800. I have spent a total of $100 on several necklaces to accomplish this look. I must say, I am pretty proud of myself and I especially love the final look! Layering your necklaces is as easy as it looks! Interchange pieces based on your look and voila – you can achieve the luxe look of Dylanex!
