Gucci and Net-a-Porter
Gucci down to the socks is sooo on trend right now… But like everyone else I definitely love the Gucci trend. After one of my first decent checks from blogging I treated myself to a Gucci belt… and that’s pretty much how I have been adding to my designer collection……Get a big check and then treat myself to a staple designer item. For sure, I know I will have this Gucci belt practically FOREVERRR. Net-a-Porter is a great place to find great designer items to add to your collection and the shipping is fast and free!

First and foremost I have to say that ‘no’ I am not getting married, so don’t get too excited over the title!!! Now that I got that out of the way….. I was invited by David’s Bridal to meet their Creative Director Robert Barnowske to take a tour of the store’s newest collections and of course I couldn’t say no. I mean, I am a girl after all!!!
The David’s Bridal in Glen Burnie was something I could not have ever imagined. The selection of dresses were amazing and I was even more surprised at the prices. Famous designers like Zac Posen and the queen of weddings herself, Vera Wang, can all be found at David’s Bridal. Elegant and plush designs filled the racks, honestly, I can see how brides can get so overwhelmed.
The Jewel collection just debuted for all of the Spring brides. Full of beautiful hand-beading and lace detailing, this collection is an absolute must-see! I was impressed that this collection is mostly priced under $1,000.
One of my favorites included a classic long sleeve look by Zac Posen. It was simple and elegant, my favorite combination for any bride!
Jamaya Moore, a local makeup artist who also specializes in bridal makeup, also went along for the tour. As someone who is familiar with bridal trends, I asked Jamaya to do a write up about bridal makeup….
“Makeup trends should go out the window for your wedding day. Choose tones that you feel comfortable with. Fresh skin, natural lips and lashes are universally flattering. I always tell my brides that my goal is for them to look like themselves, just defined and finished.
I would hate for a bride to look at her pictures and not recognize the girl in them. When you look back on this day ten years from now, you want to still look modern and relevant.
I would avoid glitter, extreme eye makeup and severe contouring/highlighting. Save the drama for your reception by adding a deeper lip shade or smokey eye.”
