The Grill Room at Windsor Court

So I made it to The Grill Room at Windsor Court in New Orleans.

I don’t normally rate a restaurant but I would certainly give this place a 5/5 stars for excellence!  Not only was the food ahhmazing but also the staff was full of southern hospitality!  I was beyond impressed.

Sydney and I took full advantage of the Lunch Plate.  Monday through Saturday you can get a meat and three gourmet plate lunch for just $19.84.   The $19.84 price tag is a nod to the hotel’s opening.  The restaurant also offers $2 martinis made with Tito’s Vodka or Plymouth Gin.  Could it get any sweeter?

The Grill Room is one of New Orleans’ only four-star/four-diamond restaurant  The ingredients are locally sourced and the chef cooks up an amazing cuisine that only can be found in the South.

The Grill Room at Windsor Court is a must for anyone traveling to New Orleans.  Just tell them FourOneOh! sent you!

And please make sure to try the Perfect Pear Martini!  It’s heaven.  Trust me.

Ida B's Table in Baltimore

Had such a great time having lunch at Ida B’s Table in Baltimore!   The staff, the atmosphere and the food all added to our very cool and quaint experience.  We enjoyed some great vegan dishes offered by the restaurant that even a meat lover would enjoy.  The Eggplant Burger was hands down my favorite dish!  Ida B’s Table is a modern soul food restaurant with a bar, parlor, drawing room, and main dining room.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, small plates during happy hour, and dinner.

From the website:

Ida B’s Table is named in honor of Ida B. Wells, the pioneering journalist and anti-lynching activist. Ida Bell Wells-Barnett (1862 – 1931) was a contemporary of W.E.B Dubois and Susan B. Anthony, writing and campaigning for justice around the world. She was one of the founders of the NAACP in 1909, and in 1990 the USPS issued a 25-cent postage stamp of her likeness.

Here are the details on what Dayna and I enjoyed for lunch:

A Royal Travel Affair Morocco

I had theee most incredible time in Morocco.  I have so many photos to share capturing my journey.  Every year a group of my friends take a big trip, usually in June, to an exotic locale all planned by Ladell Carter of Royal Expression Travel!  She is amazing you guys!  Every details was carefully thought out by Ladell and we all had tons of great memories.

These photos included a trip to the Medina and the Atlast Mountains.  The Medina was an open market, and I think my next post will be dedicated to all the color and doors I was able to capture walking the marketplace.  Remember, that scene in Sex and the City Movie when Carrie purchased those shoes for really cheap when they visited Abu Dhabi—- well this place is sort of like that!

The Atlast Mountains is also known as Morocco’s hidden travel gem. The Atlas Mountains have long been home to some of North Africa’s most remote villages.  The local Berber that populate the villages are the original occupant of Morocco.  It was great having tea with them and the opportunity to admire the view from the mountains.

What places have you visited or haven’t had a chance yet?!  Let me know in the comments below!
