The Grill Room at Windsor Court

So I made it to The Grill Room at Windsor Court in New Orleans.

I don’t normally rate a restaurant but I would certainly give this place a 5/5 stars for excellence!  Not only was the food ahhmazing but also the staff was full of southern hospitality!  I was beyond impressed.

Sydney and I took full advantage of the Lunch Plate.  Monday through Saturday you can get a meat and three gourmet plate lunch for just $19.84.   The $19.84 price tag is a nod to the hotel’s opening.  The restaurant also offers $2 martinis made with Tito’s Vodka or Plymouth Gin.  Could it get any sweeter?

The Grill Room is one of New Orleans’ only four-star/four-diamond restaurant  The ingredients are locally sourced and the chef cooks up an amazing cuisine that only can be found in the South.

The Grill Room at Windsor Court is a must for anyone traveling to New Orleans.  Just tell them FourOneOh! sent you!

And please make sure to try the Perfect Pear Martini!  It’s heaven.  Trust me.

Dinner at Magdalena Baltimore in the Ivy Hotel

So let’s talk about this amazing dinner I had at the restaurant Magdalena inside of Baltimore’s super chic “The Ivy Hotel.”  The  Magdalena boasts itself as a fine-dining bistro and a culinary jewel of Baltimore.  I COULDN’T AGREE MORE!

The menu is built upon the finest local ingredients, and changes with the seasons and the inspiration of the chef.  The chef, Mark Levy, is doing a little more than cooking in that kitchen, he is putting love and skill in these dishes.

My guest and I were amazed at how beautifully plated each dish was as well as the combination of flavors.

Favorite Appetizer: Raw & Shellfish Platter & Salad of Belgian Endive & Braeburn Apple

Favorite Entree: Roasted Magret Duck Breast, Corn Blinis, Grilled Peach, Chanterelles & Duck Sausage Gravy

Favorite Desert:  Meyer Lemon & Huckleberry Sundae, Olive Oil Cake & Coconut Cream

How does Plated work?

How does Plated work?

New York transit is full of advertisements.  I often have one of the moments where I say to myself “OOOOhhh I want to try that”, however by the time you make it off the train and get distracted by everything else the city throws at you, my “oooohhh” moments just fall to the wayside.  A while back, I noticed an advertisement for “Plated” and had one of those moments.  And now I can share with you how one of those moments actually happened!

It really is that easy!  I had so much fun cooking this Asian Chickpea Bowl.  I will feature the other I made later this week.  Plated makes you feel like a chef.  I would have never cooked anything like this, EVER!  And after all of your handwork you get to eat it and it was super yummy.  Grocery shopping is so hard for me because of the waste.  I try to shop for two meals at a time to cut down on waste.  Plated is perfect because it is proportioned and I always have enough to take for lunch the next day!  I would recommend this to anyone, single or families.  The delivery is reliable and the meals are good!  Stay tuned for my next “Plated Dish.”
